She surveyed the damage. He stood by her.
They stood over the remnants of what remained of her castle. The one she took time to build. The one she poured her blood, sweat, and tears into. She went into the depths of herself to find her courage to continue on, amidst the protests of her parents and friends. She left behind what was safe to embark on what scared her the most. She built it from the ground up.
Once it was built, it didn’t make her happy. She started resenting it, hurling negativity towards it like rocks hitting a building. It didn’t bring her the joy she anticipated.
So one day, He brought the ocean…..and swept it away.
She stood there with Him and asked, “was that really necessary?”
“Yes Child,” He said, “it was….it no longer served you.”
“But I worked so hard and now it’s all in ruins!” She said, “What am I suppose to do???”
He gently held her shoulders and said, “You must rebuild again. Rebuild this broken structure into something stronger. Learn from the lessons you’ve acquired from this experience. You can do it.”
She looked at him, “But I don’t even know what I’m building.”
He looked deep into her eyes, “You don’t need to know what it looks like yet. All you need to do is start. One lump of sand, one rock at a time. Just start and one day you’ll behold it’s beautiful form and understand why all of this happened.”
With that, she took a deep breath and began digging……
