One afternoon she was watching the news,
One violent tragedy after another.
One person suffering after another.
Upon seeing this He sat down next to her.
“Why is this happening? Why do we continue to do this to each other?” she asked.
“They’re all in pain.” He said.
She turned to face Him.
“All of them?”
“Yes; all of them.” He said.
“Isn’t there a better way of expressing it?” she asked.
“When pain goes unchecked for a long time, a person may forget about it. Yet it still remains. Energy is neither created nor destroyed; only transformed.”
He paused and turned to her,
“It is up to every individual to choose whether they are going to remain ignorant of the energy they emit, or transform it into something that benefits everyone.”
“How would anybody do that?” she asked.
A warm smile spread across His face, “energy is neither created nor destroyed, only transformed.”
Sensing the confusion she felt, He continued,
“If people could begin to see themselves as the light that they are, separate from the darkness that they feel, no darkness would remain.” He said.
“And if people don’t know how to go about doing this?” she asked.
“Then it is up to those who can, to teach those who cannot.” He said.
With that, He got up and left.
Considering His words once more, she shut off the news.
Walking towards her cupboard drawer, she took out a candle,
And lit the wick.
